Durant seniors met at the Florida State Fairgrounds on May 25 in preparation for their last moments together as a class.
They huddled in a crowd outside of the gates, taking pictures with their friends and families as they prepared to head into the event center to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas. In what was a unique end to high school as COVID-19 shook up the last two years of their time at Durant, the graduation itself was unique as students donned their mask and walked straight to their seats as they filed inside.
They were congratulated by their valedictorian, their salutatorian and administrators who spoke and applauded by those in attendance as they officially concluded their final moments together as the senior class of 2021.
If your child was a graduating senior and you would like their photos featured here, please email the pictures to tjenkins@plantcityobserver.com by Friday, June 4.
