The clock on the Durant High scoreboard was broken, but the Cougars wasted no time on offense in a 49-0 win over Strawberry Crest on Friday, Oct. 7.
Durant took a 21-0 lead in the first quarter with rushing touchdowns from Cameron Myers, Jake Harris and David Tabakovic. Quarterback Carlton Potter threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter, setting up the running clock for the second half, and Myers scored the final touchdown of the evening on the third quarter's opening drive.
The Cougars also got a big performance from kicker Peyton Ledbetter, who recorded seven consecutive touchbacks and nailed all of his PAT attempts.
In other area action, Plant City got its groove back with a 45-21 win over Bloomingdale.
