Once Tampa Bay Tech first got its hands on the football, Friday’s match quickly became one for the home team to forget.
The Titans (3-2; 2-0 district) scored on their first four possessions en route to a 39-6 blowout win over Strawberry Crest (0-5; 0-2 district).
Four touchdown drives and a pick-six put the game at 36-0 by the 8:52 mark in the second quarter, and Tech finished its scoring with a field goal at 3:20 in the quarter. Crest wouldn’t put any points on the board until the fourth quarter, when quarterback Tate Whatley found Tyler Hood in the end zone with 7:17 to play. The extra point attempt was no good, however.
In other area action, Durant lost to Lennard, 27-24, in double overtime, and Plant City defeated East Bay, 22-7.
