A man walking died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver and police are seeking information about the driver, police said.
According to a news release, Plant City Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call Dec. 2 at approximately 12:25 a.m. The caller advised the dispatcher that an adult male was walking along the southbound shoulder of County Line Road (in the vicinity of Rice Road) when he was struck by a truck traveling in the southbound lane. The truck then fled the scene of the accident.
At this time the suspect vehicle is believed to be a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and may have damage along the passenger side.
The identify of the victim has been withheld, pending notification of next-of-kin.
