The Plant City Elks Lodge thanked first responders with home-cooked meals Friday, Dec. 16.
Officers from the Plant City Police Department were honored with a lunch Dec. 16, followed by an awards ceremony. Awards were given out for service years, as well as Rookie of the Year and Officer of the Year awards.
A dinner and ceremony followed in the evening for the firefighters of Plant City Fire Rescue. In addition to service awards, a Firefighter of the Year award also was presented.
The ceremonies were held at the Plant City Elks Lodge,
1501 N. Alexander St.
The Plant City Elks Lodge also presented Plant City Police Officer Priscilla Clark with 31 pairs of new shoes. Clark hosted a shoe drive for those in need during the holiday season. The shoes will be dispersed on Christmas Day.
