Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, Plant City High School’s soccer players left for DeLand knowing their school fully supports them.
The school organized a “clap-out” celebration for the players, lining students and teachers up throughout the school’s mall area to cheer on the team as it walked from one end of the building to the other. The Raiders thanked, hugged and high-fived their way to the team vans, which were escorted to Interstate 4 by several police motorcycles.
Saturday's state championship game against Miami Beach will begin at 1 p.m.
