Six step teams from throughout the state took center stage for the 2013 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cultural Arts Festival Step Show Jan. 18, at Marshall Middle School.
Competing teams included the Star Divas (Tampa), Million Dollar Steppers (Clearwater), Kappa League (Clermont), Alpha Cougar Omega (Durant High School, Plant City), Delta Kappa Psi (Orlando) and Taken By Surprise (Lakeland).
After all scores were tallied, Taken By Surprise grabbed top honors, followed by Kappa League and Delta Kappa Psi.
The annual festival is organized by the Improvement League of Plant City, in partnership with the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival.
