The Plant City Recreation & Parks Department wanted to honor T.J. Vail’s memory with its most recent Youth Fishing Derby, and it couldn’t have picked a better day.
Fishing conditions were perfect the morning of Saturday, March 21, and 67 young anglers were rewarded with biting bass, catfish, perch and more. After the event wrapped up, program manager Deborah Haldane announced that the next Derby is already set for Saturday, Sept. 26.
