Durant used a big second half and a bend but don’t break defense to come away with a 29-0 shutout win over Alonso Friday in the home opener for the Cougars.
The Durant offense rushed for 231 yards on the night, thanks in large part to running backs Jamarlon Hamilton and Chris Atkins. Hamilton rushed for 120 yards and two scores, while Atkins rushed for nearly 100 yards and had a 7-yard touchdown run in the second half.
Durant is off with a bye next week before facing Brandon High on the road Sept. 21.
