As Jerry and Karen Bingham got out of the black SUV, it was hard to keep a dry eye. Even tough, cigar smoking bikers were welling up with support and American pride.
The Binghams arrived at Plant City Automotive Feb. 27 to be escorted by the throng of bikers to Tampa International Airport where they will leave for Somerset County, Penn. and the site of the United Airlines Flight 93 crash which happened on 9/11.
The couple went to Pennsylvania for the commissioning of the USS Somerset, a U.S. Navy Transport Ship. The ship will honor the 40 passengers and crew of the downed airliner. It will be commissioned at Penn’s Landing March 1, in Philadelphia.
