A Plant City rivalry reignited Friday night, as the Durant Cougars hosted the Plant City Raiders for the first time this season. The Raiders came away with a 71-50 victory.
Though the two teams kept it close in the first quarter, Plant City took off in the second and didn’t look back. The Raiders exploited Durant’s lack of speed and played at a breakneck pace, tiring the Cougars out and getting buckets in transition. When the Cougars did manage to slow things down on defense, Plant City imposed its will inside when their outside shooters hit rim.
Next up for Durant is a home tilt with Brandon at 8 p.m. on December 17. The Raiders will host Spoto at 7:45 p.m. on December 16.
