The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in partnership with Hillsborough County Public Schools, held a pep rally with Buccaneer cheerleaders and mascot, Captain Fear, Friday at Trapnell Elementary School.
Trapnell was one of the participating schools in the program, which sells tickets to Tampa Bay Bucs games during the season with $5 going back to the school for each ticket sold. The top 30 schools in sales get to have a pep Rally.
According to principal Alan Black, around 130 tickets were sold, primarily by nine students and school staff. Also, 60 students were carefully selected to take part in a football skills camp after the pep rally.
“It’s a win-win situation,” Black said. “It’s a great program for the Bucs and helps to bring money back to our school.”
