City Manager Mike Herr hosted a picnic for city employees at Gilchrist Park Friday, June 26, to show appreciation for their work on two projects.
One project was the addition of a wooden bridge over a small creek that divides Gilchrist Park in half. The second was the completion of Village Green in the Midtown district by Historic Downtown. Village Green has a large fountain, benches under the shade of trees and chess tables.
Employees enjoyed the park and ate hamburgers and hotdogs.
