Plant City High School played host 47 color guard teams Feb. 9 for its annual competition.
This was the third year PCHS has held a large indoor color guard competition. The Raiderettes took part in the event, taking first-place in the “B Class,” comprised of 10 teams.
“They are all just a hard working group of girls,” said coach Abraham Sabastine Jarrell. “They are all dedicated and strive to be the best.”
According to Jarrell, who returned as coach of the indoor team this season, said that most of the team are new to the indoor competition season, but are pushing to better themselves.
“We’ve about doubled the amount of people on our team from last year, so we want to continue to grow,” he said.
The Raiderettes color guard team is an extension of the PCHS band.
