It was a busy night Thursday at Durant. The junior varsity football game was packed with happenings when the JV Cougars weren’t clashing with Newsome, their final opponent of the season.
A homecoming parade took place before kickoff, with floats featuring a circus theme. The 2012 Durant High 8A softball state championship team was in the house, receiving their championship rings at halftime.
Durant’s JV team lost a close 10-7 game with Newsome, falling short of an undefeated season with a 5-1 record. After the game, the Durant varsity cheerleaders were given pies to the face and the night concluded with Pam Bowden being doused in slime.
