East Hillsborough Art Guild members were excited to show their best work at their annual Christmas Show Dec. 6.
About 100 works of art were in the show at the Walden Lake Country Club and ranged in price from $20 to $3,500.
Attendees sipped wine and enjoyed browsing through the art that varied from watercolors to oil, abstract to realism.
“A lot of times we’re working independently on our artwork and this is one of the few times out of the year where we get to share what we’ve been working on and get to see the other artists’ work that they’ve been working so hard on,” chair of the event, Colleen Justin, says. “It’s a very fun event.”
At the end of the night two $500 scholarship awards were given to the MacDonald Training Center and VSA Florida.
“We have in the past given to the universities and high schools and this time we decide we want to go in a different direction,” Guild President Mary Jane Wagoner said.
Art lovers also had a chance to win gift baskets filled with gift cards and goodies.
