Florida Strawberry Festival attendees slurped and guzzled their way to a $10 dollar gift card prize at the Fanta Strawberry Soda Throwdown on Tuesday, March 8.
Three pairs of contestants competed to see who could finish two 32-ounce cups of soda the fastest. Mother and son duo Dana and Daniel Newsome won the contest, finishing their sodas at 25 seconds, just one second earlier than contestants Julie and James McNichol at 26 seconds.
The show was held at the Belmont Magic Show Stage, located just behind the Sunnybell Kiddie Korral on the festival grounds.
