Room 508 at Nelson Elementary was transformed into a one-room school house from 1845, May 2.
Teacher Terry Senhauser dressed up in pioneer garb to teach his students math and writing on chalkboards.
Palm fronds decorated the outside and inside of the classroom.
There was even a dunce hat sitting atop a stool in the corner of the room as punishment for any troublemakers.
Senhauser taught his “Florida Then and Now” history lesson to five different fourth grade classes.
