Active in Plant City for 10 years, Friends of Scouting is an organization that promotes the benefits of scouting to young men and women. Feb. 7, Friends of Scouting gathered at the Trinkle Center for the annual dinner which recognizes distinguished scouts.
Floyd Hall received the 2013 Distinguished Citizen award. The main speaker was Col. Matt Molineux the commander of the 6th Air Mobility Wing at Mc Dill Air Force Base.
The dinner is a major fundraiser for the Gulf Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America and enables programs and services to be offered in troops throughout its reach.
At the beginning of the night, Gulf Ridge Council received a $10,000 check from CF Industries.
