The Hillsborough County Out of School Time (HOST) program at Lincoln Elementary school took part in national “Lights On Day” Thursday afternoon.
The event is to promote keeping lights on in schools after the school day is over, promoting after school programs. The event was put on by the HOST program staff was sponsored by Glisson Inspection Services Inc. and Carrabba’s Italian Grill of Plant City.
Plant City Mayor Mike Sparkman was also on hand to hand present a certificate to HOST program supervisor Debbie Zenk. The event included activities like coloring and face painting and pasta and bread was provided by Carrabba’s.
As a part of national Lights On Day, the Empire State Building will be lit with yellow lights tonight.
