Teachers got a chance to ham it up on stage at this year’s new teacher coffee. Around 200 teachers performed skits using clever cheers, changing popular song lyrics to ones with academic flair and showing off some dance moves that would earn an A +.
MaryEllen Elia spoke before the roll call, saying that this was the first teacher coffee in Hillsborough County. Because of it’s popularity, other areas of the county have created their own coffee.
The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce started the coffee in the mid 1980’s.
