It was a packed house at O’Brien’s off Alexander Street in Plant City for Dan Raulerson’s campaign watch party. Raulerson beat Democrat Jose Vazquez for the District 58 seat of the Florida House of Representatives.
“I have had an absolute blast campaigning,” Raulerson said. “It’s been educational. It’s been inspiring.”
Raulerson is a former Plant City mayor and commissioner.
“Locally, you have more influence,” Raulerson said. “You’re one of five commissioners. You have the ears of your constituents. At the state level, it’s a much broader spectrum.”
At the O’Brien’s in Brandon, former Florida state Rep. Rich Glorioso held his watch party surrounded by enthusiastic supporters. Glorioso lost the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections race to Craig Latimer.
“I have enjoyed serving my country,” Glorioso said. “I’ve been in the military. Probably the proudest thing I’ve done as state representative was working with foster kids as they aged out of the foster care system.”
