Plant City’s newest young professionals organization, Rise Plant City, held its first event Thursday, Feb. 9, at Keel and Curley Winery.

Founded in 2016 by Chairman Tom Pollock, Rise Plant City has a 12-member board and recently began accepting general members. The organization is dedicated to creating a sustainable community for young professionals, and continuing to make the Winter Strawberry Capital of the World a destination for people of all ages and backgrounds to live, work and play.

Close to 100 people came out for the inaugural event, including Mayor Rick Lott, Vice-Mayor Bill Dodson, City Commissioner Nate Kilton and Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce President Christine Miller.
