Who knew strawberries could create such fierce competition? Four pounds of the Plant City's most beloved fruit, whipped cream and shortcake went flying at the 2016 Florida Strawberry Festival Thursday, March 10, during the Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest. The group of 10 was given 10 minutes to make their shortcake disappear, but before the timer went off Leon Silcox finished and licked his plate clean.
