Young anglers got up early Saturday morning to compete in Plant City’s 2013 Youth Fishing Derby.
The event, which was open to anyone aged 5-15, was held at the lake behind the Plant City softball stadium at 8:30 a.m. Competitors attempted to catch the biggest bass and catfish they could find, but the most important thing was to have fun doing it.
An estimated 120 anglers, and their parents, were lined around the lake, baiting hooks and hoping for bites.
