The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce welcomed approximately 150 educators to its annual New Teacher Coffee this Tuesday morning.
Unlike prior years where each school presented a themed sketch, this year the teachers competed against each other with a “pop quiz.”
The schools one at a time came on stage and read their assigned question. Then the teachers wrote their answers on their place mats and competed for the trophy. They had to answer riddles like, “How many teachers are in the United States?” and “What crop is Plant City famous for?”
They also enjoyed a catered breakfast and upon dismissal were given goodie bags full of donations from local organizations to help them have an easy transition into the new school year.
Each table also had special winners who walked away with goodies like gift cards, a signed Buccaneers football and more.
