The Tampa Bay Sentinels made their full-contact debut in Plant City March 23, at the Otis M. Andrews Sports Complex.
The Sentinels, a public safety football team comprising first responders and military from around the Tampa Bay area, fell to the Cleveland Warriors 14-13 on a two-point conversion with less than a minute to play.
The Sentinels defense had three interceptions on the day, with two from Dan Parvin and a third by linebacker Forest Boles.
Ben Williams scored a touchdown on a 30-yard run, and running back Aljay Wren tallied the other score for the Sentinels.
The Sentinels will play their final home game April 6, against the Orlando Guardians.
Money raised by games benefits the MacDonald Training Center.
The Sentinels have been a longtime supporter of the MacDonald Training Center, which has locations in Plant City and Tampa. Founded in 1953, the center provides educational, vocational and residential supports for people with disabilities.
