People toting lightsabers, blaster pistols, Jedi robes and various masks of the Sith Lords and Stormtroopers swarmed to downtown Plant City Saturday as they joined local businesses in celebrating May the 4th Be With You.
The Star Wars themed holiday is celebrated world wide and Plant City opted to get in on the action by having special deals, unique food and beverages and even one-day only Star Wars merchandise and giveaways.
The Midi-chlorian count was high as Rey, Kylo Ren, Luke Skywalker and even Yoda waltzed into the the businesses in Plant City as if they were strolling into the Mos Eisley Cantina. Wookie cookies, Death Star soaps, chocolate droids, Star Wars character cupcakes, Star Wars drinks and LEGO Star Wars sets and minifigs were all available in honor of the holiday. Other businesses offered discounts on their normal items to those celebrating the holiday.
Brick City Bricks even hosted a giveaway for a LEGO Kylo Ren lightsaber. Folks lined up to get entered into the drawing in hopes of taking home the unique build. After all, true Star Wars fans all follow Han Solo’s lead. “Never tell me the odds.”
