On Jan. 20, Plant City youths showed the crowd at Tomlin Middle School that they’ve got serious basketball skills.
The 45th Plant City Optimist Club Tri-Star Basketball Competition had 68 participants, a substantial increase from last year’s total of 50. They passed, dribbled and shot to rack up as many points as possible and secure a first, second or third-place trophy at the end of the event.
The Wildcats team, of the city’s youth recreation league, was this year’s pizza party winner due to high player turnout in uniform.
