Things got a little heated between Strawberry Crest and Durant, but it was the Chargers who came out on top in an 11-10 win.
The lead changed hands once each quarter, beginning with a Durant field goal later in the first quarter. Flags flew freely in the third, after a number of players from both schools jawed at each other and got a little physical.
Durant looked to be in control from that quarter on, especially after Gabe Brown picked off Austin Carswell along the Cougars’ sideline and Garrett Rentz made a spectacular diving catch for a big gain near the end of the quarter. But Crest’s defense picked it up afterwards, and the offense did what it had to do to turn the tables.
