Nebraska-based investor Gerard J. Keating purchased four distribution centers, three in Tampa and one in Plant City, for $3.5 million. This brings Keating’s recent industrial investments in Florida to nearly 1 million square feet.
The Plant City distribution center is at 209-211 S. Alexander Street, across the street from Johnson Barbeque.
Edward Miller, CCIM, SIOR and Dolores Seymour, CCIM, MCR, SIOR, of Colliers International Tampa Bay, represented the seller. Moving forward Colliers will market the distribution centers for lease or sale to cold and dry storage users and companies needing additional acreage for outside storage.
All four centers have the ability to provide freezer and cold storage for food or other items, a feature not commonly offered in industrial space. The three Tampa buildings, situated on a total of 22.8 acres, are served by CSX Railroad with multiple rail docks and have 8 acres of trailer parking. The Plant City building is located three miles from exit 21 on Interstate 4 and has two acres of outside fenced storage.
“Increased market activity has reduced the supply of similar in-fill options in Tampa and Plant City,” Miller said. “These properties are undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and will respond to the growing demand among industrial users.”
