It’s time again for Plant City’s annual Relay for Life. The event will take place April 19 to 20, at Plant City High School. Kicking off at 6 p.m., participants will walk late into the night and into the morning in support of those who are battling or have battled cancer.
Last year, Plant City raised $263,000 for the American Cancer Society. It was the third largest amount in Florida for that year.
“Plant City is amazing,” chairwoman Linda Herman says. “I guess so many people have been touched by cancer here. They are very motivated.”
This year’s goal is $274,000. More that 70 teams have joined the fight this year to help reach that goal.
