Three men were arrested Tuesday, March 29, in Tampa following a spice bust at the Beverage Castle on Orient Road.
Those arrested include Benjamin Sanford, 24, and Christopher Campbell, 29, both of Tampa, and Lance Edgeman Jr., 32, of Plant City. All three men were charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
The spice bust was part of a two-month-long investigation involving the sale of spice by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office District I Street Crimes "B" division. Undercover deputies were able to conduct several transactions for spice from employees at the Beverage Castle located at 4206 Orient Road in Tampa.
The purchases resulted in deputies obtaining a court-authorized search warrant for the location, which was executed March 29. During the search, deputies discovered about 249 bags of suspected spice. The bags, worth about $5,000, totaled 5,030 grams.
A large quantity of the spice was found within the wall at Beverage Castle, and was covered with a large board.
