Plant City man involved in cargo theft scheme

Detectives have recovered over $300,000 worth of stolen merchandise from Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s in a cargo theft scheme that involved six individuals, including one man from Plant City.

Alexander Nealy, 36, was identified as a suspect and arrested for felony cargo theft. He was employed as a tractor-trailer driver for SalSon Logistics, a trucking contractor for Macy’s,  providing distribution throughout Florida. Detectives from Polk County and Hillsborough County sheriff’s offices, the Tampa Police Department, and the Florida Highway Patrol searched warrants at storage units belonging to Nealy. They found hundreds of boxes of stolen Macy’s merchandise.

Nealy is a former deputy with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department, a former officer with the Titusville Police Department and a former officer with the Cocoa Police Office. Currently, Nealy is a preacher at Nay City Refuge Worldwide Ministries Inc.
