Nearly 20,000 people impacted by Hurricane Irma are expected to make their way through Plant City Stadium between Oct. 5 and 10 as the stadium’s parking lot becomes home to the Department of Children and Families’ Food for Florida Disaster Assistance Program.
Anyone living or working in Hillsborough County between Sept. 5 and Oct. 4 and not receiving food assistance through the regular Food Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, who suffered “disaster-related loss, such as damage to their homes or self-employment property, loss of food, reduction or loss of income, or have incurred other disaster related expenses” may be eligible.
Individuals are encouraged to apply online. The application is available on the Food for Florida website.
