In the next few months, the RaceTrac at 1202 Townsgate Court just off of Interstate 4 will be undergoing renovations, including an interior remodel.
Plans were initially submitted to renovate the RaceTrac on June 11, and received approval after review from the City of Plant City Building and Engineering departments on June 22. However, the Planning and Zoning board needed additional details about the project before giving approval. After a number of adjustments, both departments will need to once again review the plans.
Now, Darren Eyre, the project manager with Thomas Engineering, says that the company is in the process of submitting for permits. He hopes that the project will begin in two to three months.
Eyre says that RaceTrac will not be shut down during the renovations. A mobile trailer will be brought to the site during the remodel, and the gas pumps will remain open.
