Raiders Baseball Hands Bloomingdale Second Loss Of The Season

The game started with the Bulls lead off hitter flying out deep to right field for the first out of the game. The second batter for the Bulls popped up to the infield for the second out of the inning. With two outs, Jake Carbaugh walked the batter and put one on. Carbaugh struck out the cleanup batter and left one stranded as the Raiders were due up to bat. 

Salvadore Jaramillo drew a walk to start. Eli Thomas struck out on his first at bat but during it, Jaramillo advanced to second on a wild pitch. Freshman Alex Rodriguez hit a home run to right field, scoring him and Jaramillo for a 2-0 Raiders lead. Paul Overstreet was up next and struck out. Drew Cothren was up with two outs. Cothren flew out to center field to end the inning with the Raiders up 2-0. 

Carbaugh struck out his first batter of the inning. He stayed hot in the second inning, as he struck out his second of the inning. The following batter hit a line drive to center field to retire the side. 

Keegan Wilkerson popped out on the first pitch of the inning. Hagen Smith doubled with a nice hit over first base, putting one on with Lane Baxter up. Baxter struck out and that made it 2-0 with Parker Scott’s first at bat of the game. Scott struck out. 

On the first pitch of the third inning, the leadoff batter flew out to center field for the Bulls. On a full count, the second batter of the inning got a single with a nice hit to the outfield. The following batter flew out to left field for the second out of the inning. The following batter popped out to Carbaugh to retire the side. 

Jaramillo led off for his second at bat of the game in the bottom of the third and singled with a nice hit ball into right field. Thomas was back up and was walked, putting two runners on with no outs. Rodriguez was up and looked to stay hot after his homer in the first inning. On a full count, Rodriguez was walked. Overstreet was up with bases loaded and no outs. Overstreet struck out and that put Drew Cothren up with one out. Cothren RBI singled with a nice hit through the infield and that kept bases loaded with Wilkerson up. Wilkerson struck out, putting two on with Hagen Smith up. Smith struck out and the Raiders were up 3-0 to end the third inning. 

The leadoff batter flew out to left field for the first out of the inning. The following batter quickly flew out to center field for the second out. Then the third batter flew out to right field to go 3 up, 3 down. 

Lane Baxter led off in the bottom of the fourth and struck out. Parker Scott was up next and grounded out to the second baseman. With two outs, Jaramillo was up for the third time and struck out. At the end of the fourth inning, it was still 3-0, Raiders.

Carbaugh was back out there for the top of the fifth inning and struck out the leadoff batter, his fourth strikeout of the game. Wilkerson had a great play at third base and got the second out of the inning. With two outs, the Bulls got on first base with a single to left field. Rodriguez had a nice catch at shortstop for the Raiders as the Bulls stayed scoreless through five innings. 

Eli Thomas led off in the bottom of the fifth for the Raiders and singled with a nice hit to left field. Rodriguez was up next and popped out to second base. Max Cieslo came in to pinch hit. During his at bat, Thomas stole second and then advanced to third after a bad throw by the catcher. Cieslo struck out for the second out of the inning. Cothren was up with a runner on third and grounded out to first.

In the top of the sixth, the leadoff batter hit a solo shot to right field, making it a 3-1 ball game. The following batter popped up to third base for the first out of the inning. The next batter sent a hard hit to shortstop Alex Rodriguez, but he caught it, which made it two outs. Carbaugh struck out the batter, which was his fifth of the game. 

Wilkerson was up in the bottom of the sixth and struck out. Hagen Smith was up next for the Raiders and singled through the infield. Tyler Black came into the game for his first at bat of the game as a pinch hitter. Black doubled as he hit over the third baseman for an impressive at bat. Bryson Plunk came into the game to pinch hit for the Raiders with two on and one out. Plunk struck out and that made it two outs with Jaramillo up. He flew out to center field on a hard hit ball. 

Rodriguez moved from short stop to pitcher to start the seventh inning. The first batter popped up foul to third for the first out of the inning. Rodriguez walked the second batter. Rodriguez struck out the following batter making it two outs. The Bulls batter grounded out to third to end the game. 

The Raiders won 3-1 and handed the Bulls their second loss of the season.
