Plant Panthers defeat the Raiders 61-40.
The game started with the Raiders winning the tip-off. Gavin Tinsley got an offensive rebound and got to the free throw line, hitting both for the Raiders first points of the game. After those free throws, both teams turned it over, struggling to get set. The Panthers got their first basket of the game with a tough layup. Laurice Hamilton got an offensive rebound and put back for the Raiders for their first field goal of the game. The Panthers turned it over once again, their third. Hamilton attacked the paint with another bucket. The Panthers got to the free-throw line and went 2-2. Tinsley hit a nice hook shot. Logan Teeden found Hamilton wide open on the inbound pass for an easy layup. The Panthers turned it over again, throwing it out of bounds to the Raiders bench. A timeout was called after that with the Raiders up 10-4 with 3:35 left in the quarter. The Raiders turned it over after the timeout, which gave the Panthers the ball. The Panthers responded nicely with a post-up move to score the bucket. Plant got to the free throw line and went 1-2 from the line. The Raiders failed to score after the timeout but Plant did with a nice pull up. Jamin Andrews got back-to-back blocks for the Raiders on the same possession. The Raiders finally made their first field goal of the quarter as Teeden found Akeim Young for a nice 3-pointer. The momentum stayed with the Raiders as Andrews made a nice reverse lay in transition. The third quarter started with the Raiders getting the ball, but missed. Plant scored easily with the layup, but the Raiders responded with an Andrews basket after the offensive rebound. An early timeout was called with 6:55 left in the third, with Plant up 31-23. Plant turned it over with a travel. After the Raiders miss, Plant hit a nice 3-pointer at the top of the key. The fourth quarter started up with the Raiders stealing it. It got knocked out of bounds by the Panthers. The Raiders inbounded with Tinsley getting to the free throw line, where he went 1-2. Plant responded with a nice 3-pointer from the top of the key. Teeden got a steal for the Raiders and made the transition layup. Plant called a timeout with 5:06 left in the game with the score 49-26. Plant scored on their first possession after the timeout with a reverse lay. Jalen Marshall went to the free throw line for the Raiders and went 2-2. Plant responded with an easy layup. Akeim Young got to the free throw line for the Raiders and 2-2. Teeden got the steal and the nice layup. Plant responded with a nice offensive rebound and putback. Both teams traveled on their next possessions.
