The Redlands Christian Migrant Association will host a pair of forums in the Tampa Bay area this week, with one coming to Dover.
The forums, which are a part of the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics, allow agribusinesses and educators to link up with Hispanic farm workers to better understand workers' needs. Both are open only to the media.
The forum in Dover, to be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, will address the topic of higher education for Hispanics and what businesses are doing to help provide opportunities. It will be held at the Florida Strawberry Growers Association, 13138 Lewis Gallagher Rd. The other forum will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Hillsborough Community College SouthShore campus, 551 24th St. NE, Ruskin, and will have migrant workers telling educators how they support their children's educational needs.
