All area youths ages 6 to 15 will have an opportunity to show off their football skills at the local edition of the national NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition.
This is the 20th year the City of Plant City Recreation and Parks Department and the Plant City Optimist Club have partnered to host the local competition.
Youths will compete in two-year age groups (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15), with boys and girls competing separately.
The competition is free, and the top finisher in each age group will advance to the sectional competition in the Tampa Bay region.
Players need to bring a copy of proof of age to attach to their registration form (birth certificate or religious document, such as a baptismal record) and a parent to sign the registration form.
Competitors may only wear sneakers — no cleats or bare feet are allowed per the national competition rules.
The competition will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Otis M. Andrews Sports Complex, 2402 E. Cherry St. Awards will be given at 11 a.m. Participants may register on-site upon arrival.
