At daybreak Rotary’s Monday meeting, president Rob Evans presented Leon Fisher with the prestigious Paul Harris Award. Fisher is a food and nutrition coordinator at South Florida Baptist Hospital, where he has worked for nine years.
He has been coordinating meals for the Rotary’s weekly meetings as well as about nine of their events throughout the year.
The award was a complete surprise to Fisher.
“I just love making people happy,” Fisher said. I treat every function as my own. I give it my all.”
To be eligible for the award, recipients must either be a rotarian that has donated $1,000 to the Rotary foundation or a nominated candidate that the Rotary donates for.
