TRACK AND FIELD
+ Bush, McBride represent Raiders
Plant City High School sent two athletes to the Class 4A State Finals competition last weekend.
Tychina Bush, finished eighth overall in shot put and discus throw — good enough to take home a pair of medals. Football star Montel McBride also competed in the shot put and placed 16th at states.
BASKETBALL
+ Plant City Colts to host 3v3 tourney
The Plant City Colts youth football team is hosting its annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament fundraiser soon, and the registration deadline has been extended to May 15.
The tournament, which will be held Saturday, May 17, at the MLK Recreation Center, is open to athletes from ages 9 to 72.
Registration forms can be picked up from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, at the Colts’ clubhouse, next to the baseball field by Marshall Middle’s track or online at pccoltsfootballcheer.com.
