+ Bucs name Meyer coach of year
It looks as though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also got caught up in Plant City Raider fever this season.
Before last Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Bucs announced that Greg Meyer won the High School Coach of the Year award. It’s the second time the team has honored Meyer this season — Tampa Bay also named him Coach of the Week for the Raiders’ Week 5 win over East Bay.
The win means that Meyer is up for the NFL’s Don Shula Coach of the Year award. He will compete against the other 31 NFL teams’ top high school coaches for the honor, which is expected to be announced in January.
