Smoothie King Introduces GLP-1 Support Smoothies

Smoothie King has debuted a line of new menu drinks for its guests who are taking Ozempic-style weight loss drugs.

The menu, dubbed the GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) Support Menu, features five smoothies packed with fiber and protein and no added sugar to support nutritional needs. The new menu items were developed in a collaboration with registered dietician Molly Kimball and creator of the Eat Fit initiative.

The new menu features
the following:

Gladiator GLP-1:  chocolate, vanilla or strawberry protein flavor with choice (pick two) of almonds, almond butter, wild blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, organic ginger, carrots, kale or spinach, smoothie contains 45-61g protein, 2-14g fiber and 220-560 calories

Slim N Trim GLP-1 Mango Greens: mangoes, Greek yogurt, Califia Farms almond milk, Slim N Trim Blend, organic kale, ginger and spinach, smoothie contains 22g protein, 5g fiber and 200 calories

Keto Champ GLP-1 Berry: Califia Farms almond milk, almond butter, wild blueberries, raspberries, Keto Protein Blend and cocoa. A chocolate version contains almond milk, almond butter, cocoa, Keto Protein Blend and Stevia sweetener, smoothie contains 24g protein, 14-15g fiber and 420-450 calories

The Activator Recovery GLP-1 Almond Berry: strawberries, wild blueberries, almond milk, coconut water, Gladiator Protein Strawberry, smoothie contains 24g protein, 5g fiber and 200 calories

Power Meal Slim GLP-1: in chocolate, vanilla or strawberry, contains 19-22g protein, 6-10g fiber and 190-210 calories

“These smoothies are nutritious, high in protein and low in sugar and calories and designed to keep guests satisfied and feeling full longer,” Plant City Smoothie King general manager, Jeremy Brothers, said. “They’re a great option not just for our GLP-1 guests but anyone.”

Brothers has been drinking the traditional Gladiator chocolate smoothie for awhile, but has swapped out his usual modifiers of peanut butter and banana or dates for the GLP-1 add-ins of almonds and almond butter. “It’s delicious and satisfying and a better option than a greasy cheeseburger and fries,” said Brothers, who has lost 82 pounds in a year.

Guests are loving the new smoothies too. Sharlotte Henderson, who tried the Slim N Trim Mango Greens, was surprised a 20 ounce smoothie could have just 200 calories. “The yogurt really makes it taste great, so I encourage people to come try it,” she said.

Smoothie King, located at 234 W. Alexander St., Unit 101, is open Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
