St. Peter’s to host Kentucky Derby party

St. Peter's Episcopal Church is as ready for the Kentucky Derby as anybody.

The church will host its outdoor Kentucky Derby Day Party from 5-8 p.m. this Saturday, May 7, on its grounds at 302 Carey St. There will be food provided, but guests are asked to bring a salad or side to share. Mint juleps (virgin and otherwise) will be served, and the church is asking for mint donations from anyone that has the plant.

There will be games and crafts for all ages, and $2 wagers for anyone looking to bet on the horses.

The church also says that it's looking for people to do face-painting throughout the event. All painting materials will be provided that evening. If interested, email Father Tom Thoeni at the.rector@verizon.net.
