On June 26, the Florida Strawberry Festival presented the proceeds from its annual Strawberry Ball to the United Food Bank.
A record-breaking total of $60,550 was presented to UFBPC Director Mary Heysek to assist with programs such as Feeding Our Community, Feeding Our Future, Feeding Out Legacy, and a monthly mobile pantry. These services provide food directly to those in need through on-site distribution. Through donors, staff, and volunteers, a box of food is given to clients every two weeks.
A new expanded, upgraded facility for the Food Bank is currently under construction on East Alsobrook Street.
