A Dover man was arrested at his home off of Highway 60 Thursday, March 10, for sexual battery of a child over 12 and under 18, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Arthur Jefferson, 68, was the caretaker and had custodial authority over the 16-year-old victim while the victim visited with him during the weeks of Nov. 23 and Dec. 21. Jefferson drove to a North Florida county to pick up the victim both times.
During those weeks, Jefferson willfully and intentionally performed oral sex on the victim multiple times and gave the victim about $200 total compensation, according to the criminal arrest affidavit.
The victim verbally identified Jefferson as the person who performed oral sex on him. Jefferson admitted to the offense during a controlled phone call, messages on Facebook and a noncustodial audio recorded interview.
Jefferson is en-route to the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail.
