The suspect in two Eastern Hillsborough County robberies was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015.
Kristofer Jason Mayo, 21, was arrested in Plant City on strong armed robbery charges.
At 4 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, Mayo entered the 7-Eleven Store at 3629 E. State Road 60 in Dover and approached the clerk at the counter to make a purchase. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, Mayo lunged over the counter and struck the clerk in the head with a small object, which caused a minor laceration. Mayo grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash before exiting the store.
At about 2 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, Mayo entered the Circle K Store at 3307 E. State Road 60 in Dover and approached the clerk at the counter to make a purchase. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, Mayo lunged over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash. Mayo exited the store in a red or maroon colored pickup truck with a tool box in the back.
After the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in the arrest, Mayo was found and arrested on Tuesday.
