Traci Tew Walding Named 2024 Woman of Distinction

This week, Traci Tew Walding, owner of The Face Place P.C., a medical spa in Plant City, was named Aspire Plant City’s 2024 Woman of Distinction.

Walding is also a compassionate animal advocate who has dedicated more than 10 years to Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue. She was recently appointed to the Board of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). She has also fostered dozens of animals (some of them have become permanent pets) over the years, including infant kittens that she cares for until they’re ready for adoption.

“I believe we can all agree that Traci Tew Walding exemplifies the attributes of a woman of distinction,” said Michelle Engle, event chair.

The Woman of Distinction award, in its fifth year, is given annually to recognize a woman who has been or is a role model to other women and girls, is an advocate for positive social change that helps close the leadership gap and creates a more equitable society and exhibits leadership skills in their field of expertise.

As a sixth generation Floridian with family ties in the area for more than 100 years, Walding is a beloved figure in her community. She has taught fitness at the Plant City YMCA for more than 30 years, building lasting relationships and encouraging healthy lifestyles. Traci also participated in the popular local fundraiser Dancing with The Locals, where she showcased her community spirit by both showing off her dance moves and serving as a judge. According to a news release, her long-standing commitment to Plant City, coupled with her compassion and leadership, earned her the honor of being named Plant City’s Woman of Distinction.

At the awards ceremony, her sister, Deana Hall, shared that even though she is older, her sister is an inspiration. “If she wasn’t my sister I would still say she’s one of the most genuine, honest, lovable, kindhearted and down-to-earth women I know,” she said.

Donna Keel, Walden’s friend of more than 40 years, spoke of her service to her family, friends and her community. “She’s made a profound impact on her community and is committed to making the world a better place,” she said.

Former honorees include Marsha Passmore, Gwen Thomas, Susan Sullivan and Sylvia Dodson.

“Im very grateful for this opportunity and this recognition means so much,” said Walding. “We live in a wonderful community and together we are making a huge difference and I’m glad to call Plant City my hometown.”
