Two Plant City residents suffered minor injuries in a Thursday, Feb. 23, vehicle crash.
An early-morning vehicle crash on Interstate 4 ended with two minor injuries and an overturned Coca-Cola trailer.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, at approximately 5:06 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, near the highway's 22-mile mark, a Chevrolet Avalanche driven by a minor was traveling westbound in the inside lane when the driver lost control, sending the vehicle into the median and back out across all of the lanes. It struck a Coca-Cola trailer towed by Michael Green, 26, of Plant City, causing both trailer and semi to overturn. The semi and trailer came to a stop on the inside and center lanes, and the Avalanche stopped at the inside shoulder.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries and the passenger in the Avalanche, also a minor, was unharmed. Neither driver was transported to a hospital. The Coca-Cola products remained inside the trailer. The juvenile driver was ticketed for careless driving.
